Job purpose

Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth within the logistics sector in
the South Region. This role entails proactive field sales efforts, hunting for new business
opportunities, and developing and executing effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue
targets.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and drive business
growth.
• Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer feedback to identify
opportunities and challenges.
• Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, including pipeline activity, conversion
rates, and revenue forecasts.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize sales
effectiveness and efficiency.
• Conduct on-site visits to potential clients to understand their logistics needs and present
appropriate solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client
organizations.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure new business and maximize profitability.
• Prospect and identify potential clients within the South Region through cold calling,
networking, and industry research.
• Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and verticals.
• Continuously expand the company’s customer base by acquiring new accounts and
partnerships.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in field sales and business development within the logistics
industry for at least 5 years.
• Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, including transportation,
warehousing, and distribution.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, logistics software, and technology tools.
• Willingness to travel within the South Region as needed.
• Based in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Tuticorin.
